I have heard that you can give canned pumpkin to dogs to firm up loose stools also.
As for feeding,I feed Jazzy at about 10am.Her water and food are out all day long, and food taken up at 5pm.I do leave her water down until 6pm....then it is up until the next day.

If he's not interested in eating till at least 10 or 11 in the morning and goes to bed around 10:30 to 11:30 in the evening, what schedule would you recommend for meals? I don't want him eating too soon before bed but don't want to put the meals too close together either. Thanks.
Understand that when I say 'about', I mean it. These numbers are approximate and adjusted for life stage and lifestyle, but they are still 'average'. Every dog is different, and the amounts you need to feed depend on your dog. If he isn't interested in eating all of it, then you can adjust back a little. Ultimately you have to go with how he looks and acts. If he is at healthy weight and eating less, that's ok. If he needs more than average because he is very active, that's ok, too. For my hounds, my numbers are accurate to within 100 calories of what they actually need to maintain weight. It doesn't work that way for all dogs, but it is a good starting point. I'll be happy to help you adjust a little at a time until you get a better feel for all that's going on and what he actually needs.

I think simplifying the diet is a good idea, right now. Cut out the different kinds of treats and go simple for a few weeks, until things settle down. Use some of his daily kibble for training treats. You can reintroduce other kinds of treats and training nibbles one at a time after things settle a little, so you can tell if he reacts to something.

As for a schedule, a pup at 3 months shouldn't be going 14+ hours between meals (sometime before 10pm until 11am the next day). You don't have to feed in quarter cup increments, as long as he gets his full daily ration by the end of the day. If he doesn't want to eat much early, then feed less early and feed more later when he's hungrier. Just try to space the feedings evenly through the day so he has time to eat and time to digest before the next meal.

Adding pumpkin works well for older pups and adults, but is not necessarily a good idea in a young pup, especially with all the changes in diet that have occurred. He needs to adjust and settle with his new food, and hopefully the stools will firm up without extra fiber.
